Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?

You know a sponge would barely fit into a pineapple...but okay, I love Spongebob so it doesn't matter. I'm gonna give you a little pineapple cutting lesson! I can't really say it's the correct way to do it. But it's a great way to make pineapple spears. And from you could always cut the spears into smaller bite-sized pieces for fruit salad.

So here we go, grab your pineapple!

Hold the pineapple's body while you twist the top off.

Then you should have something that looks like this:

Then you want to cut the top off, just like this

Then flip it around and cut the bottom off. This gives creates a flat surface on the pineapple that allows you to cut the pineapple safely.

Here's the tricky part. Now you want to cut off the outside. ALL of the outside parts. No brown or green spots, no "eyes" should be left. It should be nice, nude and ready for cutting!

When you're cutting off the outside you want your knife to go with the shape of the pineapple. Overlapping your cuts will make it easier for you to preserve its shape. Wasting good pineapple meat would be sad :(

Aha! Here you go, a beautiful naked pineapple.

Now split it right down the middle.

 Oh yeahhh.

Then cut the halves into halves. Or in other words, cut the pineapple into quarters (four even pieces).

Now you're going to cut out the core. It's too hard and fibrous for most people to eat (but I still eat it). So to do that, lie the pineapple quarters down on a flat side. Then take your knife and cut out the hard parts at an angle like so. Cut each piece one at a time, don't get too excited. You might hurt yourself.

Aha! And now we have four nice pieces of pineapple with a nice flat side for the next step. Lie each piece flat-side down, then cut each quarter into three separate pieces lengthwise. This will give you pineapple spears!

Beautiful pineapple spears just like this. And guess what, an entire pineapple fit in this container. Is it sad that I think I could eat the entire thing?

Yum yum yum! Eat up! But don't eat too much, I just did and now my mouth is tingling.
